We started from the Bal Mohan School at dadar at 7. 30 am taking with us things collected for the villagers.
We had our packed breakfast on the way and enjoyed the foggy ride to lohagad.
We reached baja village at 10.20 and were given instructions by Gaurav on the fort and its history . We were also given plastic bags by Kaustubh of Junglelore so we could remove plastic bags from the route which clog the ecosystem .
We started our walk to lohagad at 10.45 am.
Along the way we collected several plastic bags of various foods like potato chips, ghutka packets strewn all over the place and other plastic bags.
We found several lovely butterfly wings along the route .
Euploea core core ( Cramer ) – DANAIDAE
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euploea_core
There were some curous rocks with a mix of white and green which are called agate which were found
A fine-grained, fibrous variety of chalcedony with colored bands or irregular clouding.translucent, cryptocrystalline variety of quartz and a subvariety of chalcedony.

We also saw this unique leaf which had thorns growing from it .
We head a bird tweeting along the way and looked up to find a shrike
We reached the base village lohagadwadi at 11.30 .
After resting for a while we climbed up to the fort.
On the way to the top
The view from the fort was breath taking !!
After we descended from the fort we had lunch at lohagad wadi
The teacher and the students then distributed old clothes ,books and games to the poor children at lohagadwadi who were very happy to get some new clothes and books which they would never have got otherwise.
Someone had donated a piggy bank and one of the students explained to the village kids on how to use the piggy bank
While we were eating our food Jagdish Sir from the NIC and Gaurav of junglelore heard from villagers shouting and running with sticks when they inquired what the commotion was allow about they found out that the villagers were trying to kill a snake. When they heard that Mr jagdish was a snake catcher they left him catch the snake and did not kill the snake . According to Mr Jagdish this is a very rare snake called the cat snake
